Brian Kempton, MDBrian J. Kempton, MD, brings more than 20 years of Medical Director experience to Lufkin ER and is board certified in Emergency Medicine. In his medical career, Dr. Kempton has served as the Regional Medical Director for Texas Trauma and Emergency Care, the Area Director for the Schumacher group, as well as the Medical Director for several East Texas hospitals. Dr. Kempton is excited for the opportunity to work as the Medical Director for Lufkin ER as he considers Lufkin his hometown.
Jennifer ApplemanJennifer Appleman was born and raised in Lufkin and is proud to call it home. She is a Hudson High School graduate, class of 1989. She began her college education at Angelina College where she obtained an Associates of Applied Science in Business. She then continued her education at Stephen F. Austin State University where she received a Bachelor of Business in Accounting and a minor in Business Administration. She worked at TXU Communications for eleven years where she started out as a Cashier and worked her way up to Financial Accountant. Jennifer then went to work for Guardian Force and was in Business Development for ten years. She was married to the late Andy Gilliland for fourteen years and lost him due to a fatal accident. She is looking forward to joining the wonderful team at Lufkin Emergency Center and serving the Lufkin community. In her spare time she enjoys competing in the BCA Pool League, spending time with her nieces and nephews, and listening to live music.
Director of Nursing
Amanda BlankAmanda Blank began her career in the medical field in 1999 where she began working in an Emergency Department as a Certified Nurses Aide. She obtained her LVN Certification from Angelina College in May of 2003 and obtained her Associate Degree in Nursing in May of 2010. She is currently working towards her Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Lamar University and has plans to obtain her MBA in Healthcare Management from Lamar University. Amanda also obtained her Critical Care RN certification in December of 2013, and has worked in a leadership role as a charge nurse in an Emergency Department for the past five years. Amanda and her husband, Glenn, have three children Ravyn, Allison, and Hadlee. She and her family are members of Jasper County Cowboy Church and in her spare time she enjoys spending time with her children and family.
Director of Radiology
Dax WagnerDax Wagner has lived in Lufkin and worked in East Texas for most of his life. He is a graduate of Lufkin High School, class of 1992, and holds an Associates of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology from Angelina College. He has also completed his Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Science. Dax has completed clinical rotations at Woodland Heights Medical Center, Memorial Medical Center in Lufkin (now CHI), Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital, and Houston County Medical Center in Crockett. He spent almost five years working at Livingston Memorial before going to work in free-standing emergency centers. Dax is registered in General Radiography and Computed Tomography through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Dax is also a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) and Texas Society of Radiologic Technologists (TSRT). He is a certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) through the Texas Medical Board.
